UC Tee Cup

2017 Morgan Mare

UC Tee Cup is a 5 year old 14.2 hand refined bay Morgan mare out of UC Tee Rose by UC Domination. This beautiful little mare’s maternal grandfather, UC Ringmaster, won the World English Pleasure Championships at the World Champion Morgan Horse Show. He sired Tee Cup’s dam, UC Tee Rose, who was born, raised, and trained at UConn. In her younger years, Tee Rose was shown by a UConn student at New England Morgan Horse Show in Hunter under saddle and over fences classes winning the division. Tee Cup is the only filly out of Tee Rose! Tee Cup stands well when tied, for grooming, for the vet and farrier and has been introduced to spray bottles, clippers, and trailering. Although Tee Cup got a late start due to COVID, she has solid groundwork, lunges, long lines, and ground drives. She has had approximately 10 rides under saddle and is taking to ridden work wonderfully. This mare is intelligent, trainable, and prepared to be taken any direction.

UC Fire When Ready

2013 Morgan Gelding

UC Fire When Ready, “Fire,” is a 15.1 hand 9 year old Morgan gelding by UC Doc Sanchez and out of UC Courage Under Fire. Fire has been used in our hunt seat, dressage, and western practicum and trail riding lessons. Due to a previous SI injury, he would be best suited for a flat only home with limited canter work. In his younger years, Fire was started driving and could easily be brought back into work as a driving horse. He has recently taught several of our students to long line and ground drive. He also loves to be out on the trails! Fire gets along well with other horses (mares and geldings) and can be in a stall with turnout or can live outside 24/7. He is an easy keeper that stands well tied, to be groomed, is great for the vet and farrier and is in work barefoot.

Heyday Revolution

2002 Morgan Gelding

Rev is a 20 year old registered bay Morgan gelding standing at 14.1 hands. Rev has been a wonderful part of the UConn lesson program for many years. In his younger years, Rev successfully showed in English Please at several New England area Morgan shows as well as worked in the reining arena. More recently Rev has predominately participated in our drill, dressage, western, and trail riding programs. After many years of teaching our students and participating in UConn shows and events, Rev is ready to step down. He is truly a versatile Morgan that would be best suited for a petite adult amateur or junior rider. He is always game to head out for a trail ride or ride any discipline his rider prefers. He has amazing ground manners standing perfectly to be groomed, for the vet, and farrier. Rev is ready to head to his next home!

1999 Thoroughbred Mare

Suerte is a 23-year-old thoroughbred gray mare standing ~16 hands. Suerte has spent 10+ years playing polo and loving it! However, it is time for her to retire. She would be the perfect companion. Although Suerte can take a little time to warm up to new people is great for the farrier, clips, loads, and loves spending time in turnout with friends. 2003 Thoroughbred Mare

Tulsa is a 19-year-old black thoroughbred mare standing ~16 hands. She has been part of the UConn polo program for many years and has taught many riders the game. Tulsa is now ready to retire from polo and live a life of relaxation. The limitation of an old proximal suspensory injury would make her best suited to do light trail rides or light arena work or be a companion horse. She is great for the vet and farrier, clips, loads, and is easy to handle on the ground when she has good turnout. Tulsa is currently shod but may be able to go barefoot depending on the situation and requires no additional maintenance. (Posted 04/29/2022)

2003 Paint Gelding

Jazz is a 15 hand 18 year old paint gelding. Jazz has been used in our horse riding practicum for flat and trail riding lessons. He would be best suited for a flat only home and loves to be out on the trails! Jazz gets along well with other horses, and can be in a stall with turnout or can live outside 24/7. Due to a history of laminitis, Jazz does best being managed in regular steel shoes and requires turnout in paddocks with limited grass or dry lots. Jazz has wonderful ground manners. He stands well when tied or cross tied for grooming, tacking, and visits with the vet and farrier. He would be best suited for a confident rider. (Posted 12/27/21)
