Research Interests

My long term research interest is in improving reproductive efficiency in farm animals. I have focused on control of ovarian and testicular function. My interest in the ovary is with steroid hormone production in the granulosal and luteal tissue. We have recently isolated functional mitochondria from bovine corpora lutea (site of rate limiting step in progesterone synthesis) and found that both ATP and progesterone synthesis are reduced when PGF2a are added to the media.
