About

Issabelle Ampofo is a first year PhD student in Dr. Fragomeni’s lab studying animal breeding and genomics. Her primary focus is on genetically improving traits of economic importance in aquaculture to breed for better disease resistance and livestock production. Currently, her thesis focuses on improving disease resistance to Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis in shrimps using genomic selection techniques. The outcomes of her research will assist shrimp farmers to selectively breed animals for better disease resistance.
