About

Lisa graduated from Delaware Valley College with a BS Degree in Animal Science and a concentration in Equine Science. During her undergraduate career and prior to graduate school, Lisa spent 5 years working in Standardbred breeding facilities and participated in national and international Standardbred sales.

In 2014, Lisa earned her Master’s Degree in Animal Science at Colorado State University. While at CSU, she investigated the presence of exogenous plant miRNA, absorbed from feedstuffs, in equine serum and tissue. In addition, she collaborated on additional research projects focused in equine reproduction. Lisa then moved to Virginia where she was the Equine Manager for the Animal and Poultry Science Department at Virginia Tech. This is where she had the opportunity to travel to Austria and Germany where she earned a Bronze Reitahzeichen Certification at the Brandenburg State Stud at Neustadt Dosse. While Lisa manages the Equine Units here at UConn, she also teaches many courses focused on equine management, reproduction, and training.
