About
Shauneen O’Neill is a PhD student in Dr. Breno Fragomeni’s lab studying quantitative genetics. Her primary areas of interests include exploring how genomic information can be used to help improve animal health, especially canines. She is particularly interested in understanding how hemangiosarcoma, a highly aggressive sarcoma arising from the lining of blood vessels, can be detected early and hopefully prevented with the design of future canine breeding schemes. Besides research, Shauneen enjoys practicing martial arts, traveling, and spending time with her family, including her husband Richard and one-eyed rescue dog Ella.
