About
Sulthana is a MS student in Dr. Mary Anne Amalaradjou’s lab. She completed her Bachelors in Food Technology and Management from National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, India. Post graduation, she worked in the food and beverage industry, where she was involved in new product development (functional health beverage). Her prior research work was focused on bioactive components derived from medicinal herbs and their effect on cellular senescence. Currently, she is working on the use of probiotics to reduce colitis induced liver injury in both in vitro and in vivo models. Her research interests involve the application of bioactive compounds and biological agents to improve the functional and nutritional quality of food, new product development and food safety and sustainability.
